Our colleague Dr. Stoyan Yordanov took part in the EMERGE-EU: AI in Health Networking Visit, held on June 15-17, 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.

The three-day programme brought together early-career researchers from seven European countries – Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom – with a clear goal: to strengthen their ability to navigate the European research and innovation landscape and connect with key EU-level stakeholders.

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn about major EU funding instruments, gain practical insights from representatives of the European Commission, COST Association, and the ERC Executive Agency, and explore effective strategies for building collaborative research projects. The programme also included a visit to a university laboratory in Brussels.

For the VIBraTE project and IICT-BAS, this kind of engagement with the European research ecosystem is invaluable. Building the right networks and understanding EU funding opportunities are key to translating our research in neurotechnology and AI into lasting real-world impact.
