In December, Teodor Vakarelsky from the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences participated in an episode of the Ratio podcast Agent 001 together with Ivan Gligorijević (CEO & Co-founder of mBrainTrain).

In the discussion with hosts Kiv and Tulechki, they explored current capabilities of EEG, its applications in medicine and research, and the differences between non-invasive and invasive brain–computer interfaces. Special attention was given to the scientific challenges addressed by the VIBraTE EU project (GA 101086815), particularly the interaction between soft brain tissue and rigid neural electrodes and how this affects the long-term performance of implants.

The conversation also touched upon future perspectives of brain–AI integration and related ethical considerations.
