On December 5, 2025, the Neurotechnology Laboratory at the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, hosted an Open Lab Day, bringing together researchers from across the institute for an engaging and interactive scientific event.
The day began with an insightful seminar delivered by Dr. Hristo Hristov, who presented key aspects of the laboratory’s research and its relevance to ongoing projects in neurotechnology and brain–computer interfaces.
After the seminar, participants were invited to visit the laboratory facilities, where members of the research team showcased several of their current experimental setups, technologies, and research activities. Visitors had the opportunity to observe demonstrations of ongoing work, ask questions, and engage directly with the scientists behind the projects.
The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking among researchers within IICT-BAS. It also highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the laboratory’s work and its potential impact on both fundamental science and real-world applications.
While this Open Lab Day was organized as an internal initiative for IICT researchers, the team plans to host future editions that will be open to a broader audience, including representatives from industry, media, and the wider scientific community.
