  • 2018 – 2019: MSc Physics at University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK)
  • 2020 – 2023: Quantum Computing Software Engineer at Atos Quantum (Les Clayes-sous-Bois, France)
  • 2020 – present: PhD candidate on Topological Quantum Computation at the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, BAS (Sofia, Bulgaria)
  • 20 May 2024 – present: Researcher in the project VIBraTE at the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, BAS (Sofia, Bulgaria)

In his final years of High school, Grigori Matein worked on a research project under the supervision of Prof. PhD Asen Pashov (Faculty of Physics, Department of Optics and Spectroscopy, Sofia University). In the project he analysed the sound which different liquids produce when heated. On his own he constructed the experimental setup for the project.

At a summer internship in the Center for Quantum Technologies in Singapore, 2017, Grigori had the opportunity to work with models of ray transfer through various media and optical equipment. The results of the models he compared to real measurements of light propagation through optical apparatus via experiments (under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Lohrmann) on the already built optical setup.

Since 20 May 2024 Grigori is part of the project VIBraTE, to help with building the optical setup for measuring the biomechanical effects of viscoelastic coupling between brain implants and brain tissue, as well as modelling these effects.
